Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. When she answered an open audition call to play the character, she got it in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish pianist who relocates into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. It was her first role at the age of nine, and she had no acting experience. At the age of a teen her family left Canada to the United States. Paquin was in a brief role in the film's title role when she was just a young girl as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as she was a leading character in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 in which she played the Spanish queen in a less prominent character. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). She also was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
