Her part as Willie Scott (an American nightclub singer and performer) in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), that was directed by her future husband Steven Spielberg, is her most well-known. The film features her in Dreamscape (1984), Power (86), SpaceCamp (1986), The Black Rain(89), Love Affair, Love Affair (1994), Just Cause (1895), and The Love Letter (1999) She has continued to become a household name. Capshaw's work in portraiture was exhibited in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was a daughter of Beverley Sue (nee Simon), who is a beauty consultant and travel agent, and Edwin Leon Nail (an airline employee). Capshaw moved to St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of five, and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School in 1972. Capshaw graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in education. She was also a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught Special Education at Southern Boone High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
