Lynda Carter

 Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of Juanita (nee Cordova) and Colby Carter.Her father is of English and Scots-Irish descent as is her mother. Her father, whose family hailed from Mexico she is of Mexican, Spanish, and French descent. Carter has one brother named Vincent and one sister, Pamela. Carter was five years old when she made her public TV debut on Lew Kings Talent Show. Carter joined a band called Just Us during high school. The group performed marimba and a conga drum. They also played an acoustic guitarist and an upright bass that was played by another member of the group. Lynda began singing in a restaurant at the age of 15. 8] At the age of 16 years old, she joined with two of her cousins in a band called The Relatives. Gary Burghoff, actor, was the drummer for The Relatives. The band was first introduced in Las Vegas at the Sahara Hotel and Casino Lounge. Carter was 21 years old when she first entered the kitchen. After being named "Most talented" Carter made the decision to leave school to pursue the career of a musician. In 1970, Carter auditioned and then did a tour together with The Garfin Gathering and bandleader Howard (Speedy) Garfin. Their first appearance together was at Holiday Inn Chinatown, a San Francisco hotel that had no sidewalk entrance. Hotel staff and hotel guests had their cars parked in the underground parking garage , meaning that they performed to their guests. The Garfin Gathering toured the Nevada "Silver Circuit" and performed shows in several of the state's casinos lounges in between Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno, and Las Vegas. Carter had to quit the Garfin Gathering to pursue acting in 1972. She then returned to Arizona.
